Janiuay as a Potential Tourist Destination

More than just showcasing its unique blend of man-made and natural eco-tourism, the municipality of Janiuay is geared towards promoting its tourism-oriented festivals launched in the past three years.

JANIUAY PATRONAL TOWN FIESTA

Janiuay Patronal Town Fiesta is a ten-day yearly celebration from January 19 to January 28 featuring a parade and opening program, cultural presentations and entertainment shows sponsored by government organizations and NGO, carnival fair, culminating in the coronation of the fiesta queen on the night of January 28.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

The Festival of Lights is a special tourism project of the municipality launched last December 2004. Its main spellbinding attraction is the transformation of the town plaza into a nightly spectacle of dazzling, varicolored lights, featuring larger-than-life Christmas icons. The festival symbolizes the Janiuaynons’ passage from darkness to light, from crudeness or primitiveness to refinement and knowledge.
